more than just a pretty face - George Craig
George Craig, frontman of the indie North Yorkshire band One Night Only was catapulted to international fame and eye candy of many swooning girls when he was cast alongside Harry Potter’s very own Emma Watson to model for well-known brand, Burberry.
There’s definitely more to him than his messy locks and pale skin, I never knew he actually sang but I was pleasantly surprised to find out that he did when I was perusing through the wonderful selections of Burberry Acoustic. Listened to a couple of tracks including Just for Tonight and Chemistry and I came across a strange conclusion.
If you stripped the track down to the crooning voice of George Craig accompanied only with the simple strumming of a guitar as well as the tinkling of a glockenspiel, it isn’t watered down but you have the set formula for a song that is absolutely rich in its poignancy. Not that I am discrediting the studio versions but when the song is done acoustically, his strained, reverberating gruff voice cause the emotional aspect of the song to come unmasked and it can be felt a lot more distinctively.
